An edge I had to see to believe
I have cooked for thirty years and no knife has ever come out of the box like this. It shaved curls off a sheet of newspaper before it ever touched a cutting board.

Every one of our blades is forged by hand and guaranteed for life against defects in materials and craftsmanship. If a fault ever shows in the steel, the edge, or the construction, we repair or replace it.
It does not stop there. Every knife also comes with free sharpening for life. When the edge eventually softens with everyday use, send it back and we restore it to factory sharpness at no charge, so your knife cuts like new for as long as you own it.
The defect warranty covers manufacturing faults under normal kitchen use. It does not cover ordinary wear, rust from improper drying, accidental damage, misuse such as cutting bone or frozen food, or dishwasher damage. To make a claim or arrange a sharpening, contact our support team with your order number and a photo, and we will make it right.
Hand wash, never the dishwasher. Wash the blade by hand with warm water and a little soap, then dry it straight away with a soft cloth. The dishwasher dulls the edge and damages the handle.
Cut on wood or plastic. Use a wooden or plastic board. Glass, stone, granite, and ceramic will chip a fine edge.
Hone often, sharpen rarely. A few passes on a honing rod every week or two keeps the edge true. When it finally needs sharpening, a whetstone restores it, or send it to us for free sharpening.
Store it safely. Keep the knife on a magnetic strip, in a saya, or in a block, not loose in a drawer where the edge can knock against other tools.
Keep it dry. Never leave the knife to soak or sit wet in the sink. A drop of food-safe oil before long storage protects both the steel and the Damascus pattern.
An edge I had to see to believe
I have cooked for thirty years and no knife has ever come out of the box like this. It shaved curls off a sheet of newspaper before it ever touched a cutting board.
Glad I took the gamble
Buying a blade I had never held felt like a gamble, so I braced for disappointment. The fit and finish beat blades at three times the price, and the edge is in another class.
My Zwilling is retired
Twelve years with a German chef knife and I thought I was set for life. This is noticeably sharper, half the weight, and it has not left my board since the day it arrived.
Edge is still going strong
Five months of cooking almost every night and it still takes paper-thin slices off a bell pepper without the skin dragging. Two passes on the rod and it is back to scary.
Bought for my dad, ordering my own
Got the Gyuto for my father, who cooked professionally for decades and is impossible to impress. He called me twice in one week about the balance and the Damascus grain.
The layers are not marketing
I figured the 67 layers talk was branding until I trimmed a whole brisket and then minced herbs with the same edge. You can feel the grain in the steel, it is the real thing.
Two days, double boxed
It arrived from the US warehouse in two days, double boxed with the blade in a guard. Out of the wrapper it was sharper than anything on my local shop's two hundred dollar rack.
Balanced like nothing I own
The weight sits right at the bolster, so it feels like part of my hand instead of a tool. An hour of prep and my wrist is fine, my old heavy chef knife never managed that.

Forged to outperform
Every blade we ship is hand forged to outcut, outlast, and outclass the ordinary knives sitting in your drawer.

Everything worth knowing before your blade ships.
Who makes these knives?
Every blade is made in Seki, Japan, a city known for over seven hundred years of blade-making. Each knife is folded, ground, and finished by hand in a small family workshop there, then sold direct through this store with no dealer in between.
Is this real Damascus steel, or just an etched pattern?
Real. The pattern is not printed or etched on. It is 67 actual layers of steel, folded and forge-welded around a hardened VG-10 cutting core, then hand-finished in Seki so the flowing suminagashi grain runs all the way through the blade. No two are identical.
How sharp is the edge out of the box?
Razor sharp and ready to cook. Each blade is hand-honed to a 12 to 15 degree edge before it leaves Seki, far finer than a typical Western knife, so it glides through tomatoes, fish and herbs from the very first cut.
Will it stay sharp, or dull in a few weeks?
It holds. The VG-10 core is hardened to 60 to 62 HRC, harder than the soft stainless used in most store-bought knives, which is why it keeps its edge for months of regular use rather than weeks.
What happens when it eventually needs sharpening?
You never pay to keep it sharp. When the edge finally needs work, send the knife back and we sharpen it for free, for as long as you own it. Most owners only need this about once a year.
Which knife should I choose?
Start with the Chef knife (Gyuto) or the Santoku for everyday work, both handle almost everything. Add the Nakiri for vegetables and the Kiritsuke for clean, precise slicing. The matched set shares the same steel and finish across every blade.
How do I care for my knife?
Hand wash with warm water and dry it right after use, and store it on a magnetic strip or in a guard rather than loose in a drawer. Keep it out of the dishwasher. Use it on wood or soft plastic, never glass, stone or ceramic.
How fast will my order arrive, and where does it ship from?
Shipping is free on every order. Your knife ships from our US storefront, not from overseas, and leaves within one business day. Most orders arrive in 2 to 5 days, and tracking is emailed the moment yours is on its way.
What if it is not the right knife for me?
Cook with it and put it to work. If it is not for you, return it within 60 days for a full refund, with no restocking fee.
What does the lifetime warranty cover?
Every blade is guaranteed for life against manufacturing defects in the steel, the edge and the handle. It does not cover normal wear or damage from misuse, such as cutting bone or frozen food, prying, or dishwasher damage.
Why is a knife like this priced the way it is?
Because we sell direct. A blade like this normally passes through an importer, a distributor and a shop, each adding margin. Buying straight from the workshop means you pay for the steel and the craft, not the markup in between.
Do they make a good gift?
One of the best. Each knife arrives in protective packaging ready to give, and a blade like this gets used for decades. It is covered by the same lifetime guarantee and free sharpening even as a gift.
